Pledge to  Boycott Menards

Since 2019 the people of Granger Township, Bath Township, and Sharon Township have been fighting to protect our environment and community from the construction of a complex that is twice the size of Summit Mall.

Menards is under contract to purchase about 300 acres of Land in Granger Township, located at the head of the Yellow Creek Watershed. They plan to put in two big box stores and multiple smaller stores.

Is this what we want for Granger Township? Destruction of the rural character of Granger Township, wetlands, and farmland. Do we want to multiply speeding cars on our rural roads, crime, noise, and bright lights all night long?

Similar complexes in Ohio are increasingly going out of business: Rolling Acres Mall, Euclid Mall, and Chapel Hill Mall have all gone out of business. We will be left with empty decaying buildings which will economically drain Granger Township. In Medina and Fairlawn, lots are still empty from stores like K-Mart and Levin.

The details of the development also do not meet the specifications of Granger Township's Zoning Resolution. At least one trustee’s family will financially benefit from the sale to Menards.

Because Granger officials will not protect this community from corporate greed, we need you to send a message to Menards that they are not welcome in Granger Township and will not make money off the people in this area while simultaneously destroying the land in our township and small local business.

After reviewing the information presented on this page and the Market at Medina Line page, consider contacting Menards with your opposition to their project.  We have provided options to contact them. Also, visit the Granger Citizens Action Group for additional information.
